  • Flight Operations

    • Operate company aircraft safely and efficiently in accordance with FAA regulations, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the General Operations Manual (GOM), ensuring compliance with Part 91 and Part 135 requirements.

    • Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) or Second-in-Command (SIC) as assigned.

    • Analyze flight plans to determine the safest and most efficient routing, and monitor weather conditions and operational risks throughout all phases of flight.

    • Maintain communication with Air Traffic Control and company personnel.

    • Ensure fuel requirements meet operational and regulatory standards.

    • Monitor aircraft systems and promptly report discrepancies or maintenance concerns.

    • Verify aircraft performance, weight and balance, and operational limitations before departure.

    Compliance and Training

    • Maintain all required FAA certificates, ratings, and medical qualifications.

    • Complete recurrent training and checking requirements on schedule.

    • Remain current on company policies, procedures, and operational manuals.

    • Participate in company safety programs and Safety Management System (SMS) initiatives.

    • Report hazards, incidents, and safety concerns in accordance with company policy.

    Customer Service and Confidentiality

    • Provide a “WOW” experience for every client through professional, courteous, and personalized service.

    • Assist with passenger needs while maintaining safety as the highest priority.

    • Maintain discretion and confidentiality regarding passengers, clients, and company activities.

    • Never discuss company matters or crew members with clients, share confidential information, or discuss client information outside of operational necessity.

    • Minimum 2,500 hours total flight time.

    • ATP Certificate.

    • FAA First Class Medical Certificate.

    • Falcon 7X type rating preferred.

    • Experience operating turboprop and/or light jet aircraft preferred.

    • Part 135 experience preferred.

    • Valid U.S. passport and ability to travel internationally.

    • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Bentonville, Arkansas.

    • Ability to pass all required background checks and drug screenings.

    • Exceptional judgment, professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to safety, customer service, and confidentiality.

    • Regular schedule: 7 hard days off per month.

    • Flight scheduling: Trips are typically scheduled 24–48 hours in advance, with occasional short-notice flights. Pilots must remain available for assigned trips within the normal scheduling window unless on scheduled days off.

    • Fire operations: 12 days on / 2 days off, with up to 12 rotations per year depending on operational needs.

    • Additional rotation bonus: After completing 12 rotations within the calendar year, pilots receive $2,000 for each additional 12-day rotation, if applicable.

    • Fire flight compensation: $100 per billable flight hour on fire contracts, in addition to base salary and bonuses.

    • Base compensation: Competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications.

Aircraft Mechanic

  • VAS Fire is seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to support wildland firefighting operations and aircraft maintenance. This position requires extensive travel, verifiable Citation experience, and the ability to work independently. It is not an entry-level position.
    Perform aircraft preflight and postflight inspections and AOG repairs.

    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.

    • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, service, and check the operation of aircraft systems and components.

    • Maintain and clean aircraft interiors and exteriors.

    • Diagnose mechanical and structural issues and recommend corrective actions.

    • Support aircraft modifications, repairs, and inspections as assigned.

    • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data.

    • Accurately document all maintenance performed in accordance with FAA requirements.

    • Complete maintenance tasks safely, accurately, and on schedule.

    • Perform maintenance under the direct supervision of the Director of Maintenance.

    • Comply with the General Operations Manual (GOM), company policies, procedures, and directives, and guidance from the Director of Maintenance.

    • Maintain clean, safe, and organized tools, equipment, and work areas.

    • Follow all safety procedures, including Tool Control and Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention practices.

    • Collaborate with mechanics, technicians, and supervisors.

    • Communicate maintenance status, discrepancies, and repair needs to supervisors.

    • Assist with parts tracking, inventory, and basic maintenance planning.

    • Participate in ongoing training to remain current on aircraft systems and maintenance practices.

    • Provide support during audits and inspections.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    During fire season, work primarily involves preflight and postflight inspections and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) repairs, with limited time spent performing other maintenance. Candidates must be comfortable with periods of downtime and able to stay productive independently.

    • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.

    • Minimum of 3–5 years of aircraft maintenance experience. Corporate aircraft and/or transport-category aircraft experience, such as Boeing, preferred.

    • Verifiable Citation experience required.

    • Experience with multi-engine, turbine-powered, fixed-wing aircraft required.

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Ramp Pass and U.S. Government clearance.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, maintenance instructions, blueprints, and FAA regulations.

    • Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.

    • Strong communication, troubleshooting, and practical problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to follow written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.

    • Ability to perform all essential duties safely and efficiently.

    • Must live in Bentonville, Arkansas.

    • Valid driver’s license required.

    • Drug screening and background check required.

    • Must be willing and excited to travel extensively, including overnight deployments outside Northwest Arkansas.

  • This position supports wildland firefighting activities for up to six months each year, typically across the western United States during the summer.

    • Highest-paying schedule: 12 days on and 2 days off during firefighting deployments, for up to six months per year.

    • Home-base schedule: For six months of the year, work in Rogers, Arkansas, on a 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule.

    • Alternative schedules: Multiple options are available, including 12 days on and 12 days off year-round at a lower salary.

    Extensive travel and overnight stays are required during firefighting deployments.

    Salary

    The expected annual salary range is approximately $70,000–$100,000, depending on experience, certifications, qualifications, and schedule.

    Higher compensation is available for candidates with greater Citation experience and/or an Inspection Authorization (IA) who work the 12-days-on, 2-days-off schedule for up to six months per year.
